I have numerous medical issues with my cervical and lumbar spine. I had to walk with a cane due to leg weakness and balance problems. Still I fell down often. I was unable to sit or stand for any length of time. Sleep was intermittent at best. Even though I had an intrathecal morphine pain pump implanted in my spine, I was in constant, severe pain. I no longer did things with my family. Life was difficult at best.

My neurosurgeon said I needed surgery to fuse my neck from C1 thru C7. My pain had become unbearable, along with the side effects. But after 3 failed attempts to do the surgery, my doctors and I agreed that I wasn’t strong enough. So we agreed to postpone it for now. It was during this time I began to shrink. I went from 5’1″ to 4’8″ in a month’s time. I began leaning towards my right side and I could not stand up straight even with help. I was diagnosed with a form of scoliosis. We began a six month treatment plan. In that time, I am happy to report that I have steadily improved.
